Over many months, he grew immensely in strength, up to a point where there was nothing he found that he could not lift. And yet, there was still the energy brimming within. He wondered frequently what it was, but could not tap into it. Then one night, his super hearing brought sounds of screams coming from a neighboring town nearby, and he instinctually flew toward it. The closer he got to the sounds, the greater the energy swelled. Until he was within eyesight of the nightmarish scene, and the energy could be contained no longer. Reflexively bringing his hands together, he unleashed a bright brilliant blue blast of energy that shot downward, igniting the night sky, before enveloping the wicked, destroying them instantly. The rescued folk looked upward in awe, and there, still glowing, he found the word for his power. And the word was empathy.
